Exercise & Activity
Remember the good old days when playing with friends was as easy as walking out your front door and
joining your neighborhood pals? There was probably always some kind of fun going on. And if not, it wasn't hard
to round up some friends to get a game of kickball or tag going.
But the reality is different today. A lot of neighborhoods have changed— some aren't as populated with kids,
and many children live greater distances from their friends. Today it is much more common to have arranged play
dates than to have spontaneous ones. But just because most playtime is planned today doesn't mean it can't be just
as fun for your children as it was for you.

Family Meal Time
If you're like many parents in today's fast-paced age of cell phones, hectic schedules and the
Internet - you spend less time with your children than you'd like. And perhaps one sacrifice you've
made along the way is the traditional family meal. Well experts now suggest you reconsider, and for good reason.

General Wellness
Do your kids need a daily planner to keep track of all their extracurricular activities?
Does your typical day involve hours in the car, shuttling kids to practice, clubs or games?
Or maybe you only see your teenager in between her running to and from her numerous commitments.
If so, your kids are probably overscheduled. When kids are involved in so many activities,
they have very little or no downtime to relax or do something just for the fun of it. For younger
children, that means time to play. For teenagers, it means having time to "chill out".

Kid's Nutrition
Your child's brain is a powerful machine; it could easily be compared to a car. A car needs gasoline,
oil and other materials to run properly. When gasoline is tainted with sugar or water, the car's
engine sputters and eventually stops running. The brain also needs the right fuel to run properly,
and if the fuel is "tainted" or of low quality, the brain too, will have difficulty functioning.
Choose to give your child brain building food, so his or her brain can function like the remarkable organ that it is.
